Look straight ahead to see Little Wolf Creek. It starts just above the south-eastern corner of Empire Mine State Historic Park (EMSHP). You can cross over it twice walking the Hardrock Trail at EMSHP. The creek flows through a closed off area of the park that will be treated forever for mining toxins. The CA Department of Toxic Substance Control has been overseeing a clean-up of the park since 2013. Little Wolf crosses under South Auburn St. and then is shunted into a long culvert that goes under Hwy 49 and Freeman Lane to just above where you see it now. It breaks free of the culvert for about an 1/8 mile before it reaches its confluence with Wolf Creek.

Mira hacia enfrente para encontrar Little Wolf Creek. Este empieza cerca de la esquina sureste del parque histórico Empire Mine. Si caminas por el sendero Hardrock cruzarás dos veces este arroyo. Little Wolf Creek fluye por un área del parque cerrada al público, aquí se lleva a cabo un tratamiento permanente de las sustancias tóxicas dejadas por la minería. El Departamento de Control de Substancias Tóxicas de California ha supervisado la limpieza del parque desde 2013. Little Wolf Creek cruza por debajo de la calle South Auburn y después es desviado por una tubería que pasa por debajo de la carretera 49 y Freeman Lane; sale de la tubería y continua corriendo por un 1⁄8 de milla hasta la confluencia del arroyo Wolf Creek.
